Good Food, Good Company, and a Chapter That Feels Like Home

Friday night wasn't about resolutions or canvass numbers. It was about the people. Members and friends packed into our Solidarity Social to share a potluck spread, catch up outside the usual meeting agenda, and remember that the movement we're building is made of exactly this: neighbors who genuinely like showing up for each other.

The food table said it all, homemade dishes from a dozen different kitchens, recipes passed down and recipes invented on the spot. Kids ran around while longtime organizers swapped stories with folks who'd joined just last week. There was laughter loud enough to fill the room, and more than one conversation that started with small talk and ended with someone signing up for a working group.

That's the thing about this work. The campaigns and the meetings matter, but so does the joy, and Friday was a good reminder that a strong chapter is a strong community first. The relationships we built over paper plates and folding chairs are the same ones that carry us through the long fights ahead.

Thank you to everyone who brought a dish, pulled up a chair, or just came to be together. And if you're reading this and wondering whether there's a place for you here, there is. Pull up a chair, we've got plenty of room.
