Our branch is powered by committees and working groups where the real work gets done. A committee is a body of members, appointed or elected by our membership, tasked with considering, investigating, or taking action on our behalf. They're also the easiest place to plug in and find your people.

Communications

The Communications Committee tells the chapter's story across our website, social media, and print materials. They handle graphic design, copywriting, and messaging that keeps members informed and reaches working people across Delaware County. Our work makes sure our campaigns and demands land with a clear, consistent voice.

Environmental Justice

The Environmental Justice Committee organizes for a livable future in Delaware County, connecting the fight against climate change to the fight for working people. We campaign for clean air, clean water, and a just transition that leaves no community behind. They also work to hold local polluters and decision-makers accountable.

Electoral

The Electoral Committee works on recruiting and electing socialist candidates for local office, and building a field program to support them. We also develop resources that explain how local and state governments work.

Member Outreach

The Member Outreach Committee welcomes new members and helps them find their place in the chapter. We run orientations, follow up with folks who want to get involved, and build the one-on-one relationships that keep our organization strong. Our goal is simple: make sure no one who joins gets left on the sidelines.

Political Education

The Political Education Committee helps members sharpen their analysis and deepen their understanding of socialism. We organize reading groups, night schools, and discussions that connect big ideas to the work we do every day. Every session is built to welcome newcomers and veterans alike.

Mutual Aid

The Mutual Aid Committee meets the material needs of our neighbors through direct, solidarity-based support, not charity. We organize efforts like food distribution, resource drives, and community care that build trust and power across Delaware County. Our work shows what solidarity looks like in practice.

HOW WE MAKE DECISIONS

As a democratic organization, we make decisions primarily through deliberation and voting by the assembly of all members. We utilize direct democracy for as many organizational decisions as possible. We believe that this democratic practice is an essential part of our socialist vision, and also that the process of formulating political initiatives, deliberation, debate, and voting strengthens us all as political actors and organizers.

These debates occur at general meetings where we vote on resolutions proposed by members. Resolutions outline what the organization should do, how it should be done, and what our perspective should be, allowing for democratic debate on concrete issues.

Any member or group of members interested in submitting a resolution is encouraged to contact us for help with drafting your ideas into an actionable resolution that is in accord with Robert's Rules of Order.
