We believe in the democratic process of voting, ensuring each and every member’s voice is heard and has equal representation in decision-making that impacts us all. By extension, we believe in fair elections and individual input for legislation so that the majority’s voice will be applied, but the minority’s will still be heard and given an equal chance to speak.

Socialists

We believe in meeting the material needs of people rather than prioritizing the endless pursuit of maximizing profit. We adhere to the principle that workers should collectively have the power and control over what they produce with their labor, and that the wealth generated should be used to provide people with public services rather than be hoarded as private profit.

Of America

We are Americans, and we believe in a vision for The United States of America in which all its citizens truly have equal opportunities and resources. We want America to reach its full potential and live up to the expectations aspired to in its premise by allowing everyone the rights to life (healthy food, clean water, fresh air, safe housing, and free healthcare), liberty (freedom from the fear of violence and threat of physical needs being unmet, ability to speak and dissent without legal punishment and to defend oneself), and the pursuit of happiness (having the time and energy necessary to create, travel, relax, and explore the world while building relationships with others).

This is the DSA, and we hope to achieve these goals together for a better future.
