WE are delco DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISTS OF AMERICA

We're your neighbors in Delco: nurses, students, teachers, tenants, retirees, and the people this economy leaves out.

We're not a charity and we're not a campaign stop. We're a democratic organization run by our members, built on one idea: Delaware County should work for the people who live here, not for profit.

We see what's broken. So we organize to fix it.

What We Do

  • We attend Delaware County Council meetings to keep abreast of issues facing our community, and speak in support or opposition to issues that impact the working class.

  • As a community, we rally around anyone who needs help. Our goal is to keep our residents safe and secure. This encompasses everything from food drives and fundraising to CPR/first aid/stop the bleed training.

  • As part of a multi-city boycott, we work to call on local shops to stop carrying Israeli products, putting pressure on companies complicit in colonialism and apartheid with a sustained and coordinated effort to impact their bottom line.

  • We stand up in opposition to environmental threats that disrupt the Delco way of life. Data centers, serial polluters, and incinerators that spew trash into the air aren’t welcome here.

  • We work to get candidates elected and community members registered to vote. We’re working to get members in political committee seats as well as prepare for future office runs.

  • It’s not all work and no play with Delco DSA! We get together, socialize, and build community. Craft nights, pub meetups, and casual hangouts are just the tip of the iceberg.
